MathAmigos is dedicated to helping teachers inspire kids to love math in Santa Fe Public Schools. Through workshops we provide strategies for immediate classroom use that deepen long-term mathematical thinking for teachers and students. Through our continuing collaboration with Santa Fe Public Schools we hope to strengthen our community partnerships to increase our impact on math teaching and learning.
The Reading Group
The Reading Group is dedicated to supporting children and youth through various community projects designed to promote literacy. Current efforts include, small grant funding for literacy projects and donation of over 36,000 new books to Northern New Mexico children and youth to help build home libraries.
STEM Scaffold Santa Fe is comprised of youth educators & development specialists dedicated to providing STEM programming & mentoring for youth, especially from underrepresented groups in STEM, to realize their potential and expand their opportunities in a dynamic world.
We currently engage youth through middle & high school programs designed to supplement students’ STEM education with in-school, hands-on STEM & STEAM projects designed to engage & teach 21st century skills in small group settings with trained college student & STEM professional mentors. Our main goals are to increase students’ interest & curiosity in STEM courses or careers, build communication, teamwork, & problem solving skills, and for our high school students, increase enrollment in STEM college courses while in high school and/or beyond.
The Santa Fe Community Educators Network (SFCEN) is a collection of educators from forty-five different organizations throughout Santa Fe and the surrounding areas who believe in the power of collaboration to enhance experiential education in our community. Collectively we promote hands-on, project based learning in the community through engaging programming in a variety of settings.
Our offerings includes in- class, out of school time and family programming as well as teacher support and curriculum development. Additionally, we provide opportunities for networking, professional development as well as for shared growth and learning among informal educators in nonprofit organizations. It is our belief that we have the potential to make a greater impact in enriching tour community together than any one of organizations has alone. We hope your will join us in utilizing diverse and engaging experiential education to create a city where schools, families and students can thrive!
