PREVENTION & RE-ENGAGEMENT OF DISCONNECTED YOUTH
Research shows that there are key moments throughout a young person’s life that influence their path to success as an adult. Preventing and re-engaging disconnected youth in Santa Fe—young people aged 16 to 24 who are neither working nor in school—reconnects these valuable youth with the people, institutions and experiences that develop the knowledge, skills and sense of purpose needed to live rewarding lives as adults.
WHAT WE ARE TRACKING:

COLLECTIVE ACTION PROJECTS
Community-wide Outreach & Campaign
Develop collaborative, community‐wide outreach for target opportunity youth and create positive public awareness/ support for “opportunity youth”.
Program Mapping Analysis (Research)
Conduct analysis of current program and resources for disconnected youth to inform collaborative system development
Coordinated Referral System
Develop a coordinated entry point & referral system for prevention and effective re‐engagement programs.
Enhance and expand alternative pathways options for both school-age and older youth in Santa Fe that:
– combine learn & earn opportunities with wraparound support
– provide multiple options through both school-based and community-based solutions, and
– foster less punitive juvenile system with more community-based approaches.
